Abstract

A retrospective analysis of 27 patients with spontaneous rupture of HCC who underwent surgical treatment has been presented. The indications for emergent laparotomy were hemoperitoneum and unspecified peritonitis. Treatment is aimed at controlling the intraperitoneal hemorrhage. Although it could be achieved by hgepatectomy, HAL, packing and suturing, hepatic resection is still the treatment of choice for spontaneous rupture of HCC.
