Abstract

Application layer multicast is an alternative to network layer multicast. The existing application layer multicast approaches focused on single source multicast and they are insufficient in supporting distributed applications that require multisource and fast route recovery with dynamic membership. This study proposed a multisource application layer multicast routing protocol with fast route recovery. According to the proposed scheme, the recovery time can be reduced to the time of table operations. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposal.
