Abstract

The first two examples of halogen bonding in the C_sp³-F⋯O_sp³ interaction have been both experimentally and theoretically proved for trans-[PdX₂(3-HCF₂CF₂CH₂OCH₂py)₂] complexes where X = Cl and Br. Both metal complexes with a C_sp³-F⋯O_sp³ halogen bond have a σ hole donating fluorine.
