Abstract

The increased reliance on nonhuman technologies can lead to an impersonal and calculating medical care system. Failing to understand patients' perspectives can lead to communication problems among physicians, medical care professionals, patients, and patients' families. However, these communication problems may be bridged by narrative medicine literature. In this paper, narrative medicine literature and interdisciplinary cooperative learning are promoted to establish more humanizing medical care.
