Abstract
Potassium depletion may have profound effects on cardiac rhythm. Life-threatening ventricular arrhythmia such as torsades de pointes complicated by sudden hypokalemia can be controlled by potassium repletion. Conn's syndrome is known to cause hypokalemia. However there are very few reports of patients with Conn's syndrome developing torsades de pointes in the literature. Here we present a case of torsades de pointes occurring in a patient with Conn's syndrome and hypokalemia. Apart from hypokalemia, no other definite cause of torsades de pointes was identified in this case. Similarly, apart from hyperaldosteronism, no other cause of hypokalemia was found.
