Abstract

Transient sensitivity computation is important in performing circuit optimization. The authors present a method to compute the transient sensitivity for Waveform-Relaxation (WR) based circuit simulation. By partitioning the circuit into subcircuits during WR simulation, they compute the transient sensitivities for each subcircuit and then propagate the calculated results to the succeeding subcircuits to iterate for the entire sensitivities. Experimental results are shown to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
