Abstract

An upper limb orthosis is an externally applied device that helps modify structural and functional characteristics of the upper extremity. This chapter provides guidelines concerning the principles for upper limb orthoses. Members of the rehabilitation team should be familiar with the classification, designs, and applications of the common upper limb orthoses mentioned in this chapter.
