摘要

We reported seven cases of Castleman's diseae in the head and neck. Five cases were presented in the neck, one case in the parotid gland, and one in the nasopharynx. Histopathologically, six cases were hyaline-vascular type, while only one case was plasma cell type. Five patients were male, and two female. The age ranged from 15 to 51 years. Clinically, Castleman's disease usually presents as an asymptomatic, solitary mass when it occurs in the head and neck. It is difficult to make a differential diagnosis when such a cervical lymphadenopathy is the only manifestation. Exact diagnosis depends on the histological interpretation. Surgical excision is the best treatment modality for the hyaline-vascular type of Castleman's disease and is generally curative. However, the plasma cell type requires excision with close follow-up for recurrence and possible chemotherapy.
