摘要

Ureteroneocystostomy has been used for many years to treat high grade vesicoureteral reflux; the procedure has a very low complication rate. However this report describes a rare complication of ureteroneocystostomy happened in a one-year-old male. It manifested with acute pyelonephritis and hydronephrosis three months after operation. Exploration was performed after the infection was controlled, and penetration of the sigmoid colon by the ureter was noted. Wedge resection with primary closure of the colon was done, and neither hydronephrosis nor infection was found after one year of follow- up.
