Failure of the polyethylene linear of a bipolar hip prosthesis resulting in deep defect and impending fracture of the neck of the femoral stem component

This paper reports a case involving failure of the polyethylene liner of a Mecron bipolar hip prosthesis with impingement of varus metal shell on the femoral stem neck resulting in deep defect and impending fracture of femoral stem components.
