Majority-Based Adaptive Block Sizing and Neighboring Correction for On-Display Fingerprint Orientation Field Enhancement

摘要

Fingerprint verification is an important biometric security technology in recent years. Getting better fingerprint image quality by image processing will strengthen the security of fingerprint identification. This paper proposes an enhancement algorithm to improve the accuracy of On-Display Fingerprint (ODF) orientation field by using Majority-Based Adaptive Block Sizing (MBABS) and neighboring correction. The experimental results show that gaining an accurate ODF orientation field by our method guarantees the enhancement of image quality and extracting better features.
