摘要
This paper focuses on the data modeling of PCB assembly and its part definition, particularly for PCB assembly analysis. We first analyze the procedure of PCB assembly. The key processes, namely insertion and soldering, which are often considered critical in PCB assembly, are discussed. Then, the factors considered in assembly analysis are described. The data related to these factors are also depicted. Most importantly, this research develops a STEP-compatible data model to define data formats for assembly analysis, mainly PCB assembly data and component data. Implementation structure of the database using the defined data model is discussed. Finally, a PCB assembly example is used to describe the data model at work. This research provides a PCB data model, which is consistent with other STEP-based and STEP-compatible data models and can achieve the product data integration for concurrent engineering practice.
